Introducing: Round Tables

This fall, we’d love for you to join us for a new opportunity to gather, Round Tables! Register Here

After the community survey we did in the spring, the elders and staff have been working together to invite conversation and connection for us all. We will be hosting four Round Tables this fall; each one geared toward a different demographic, with the goal of hearing from you about your communities and the opportunities you see for the church to engage more. We will be asking questions and listening and your voice is so important to these conversations! We would love for you to join any or all of the sessions (even if you might not name yourself in a certain group, you could be interested in the conversation!). Each session will be led by people both on staff and the elder board, and you can email Kate Gungor if you’d like any more information.

Round Tables will take place in the Fellowship Hall, from 12:30pm-1:30pm (following the 11am service). Coffee will be provided!

Save the Date - October 5: Round Table for Creatives/ October 19: Round Table for 20-Somethings/ November 9: Round Table for LGBTQ/ November 2: Round Table for Parents

Update On Coffee Team Needs

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of making Coffee Hour such a joy — from volunteers brewing and serving to those simply showing up and connecting. Each week it’s growing, and we keep hearing stories of new friendships and deeper community being formed around a cup of coffee.

As we move out of our soft launch, we’re getting a clearer sense of what we need and would love your help:

  • Coffee Leads: We’re looking for a few people to help run and organize Coffee Hour on Sunday mornings (8:30–11:30 AM). A small stipend is available for this role.

  • Greeters & Servers: We’d love 6–12 more volunteers to welcome people and serve coffee—just once a month.

It’s a fun and easy way to get connected (even better with a friend!).
If you’re interested, email Alicia to learn more or sign up.

Fall Small Groups 2025: Sacred Belonging

This fall, our small groups will gather around Sacred Belonging: A 40-Day Devotional by Kat Armas. Books can be picked up on Sunday mornings starting September 14 or from your group leader at your first meeting.

Groups will:

  • Meet for 8 weeks, beginning the week of September 28 through the week before Thanksgiving.

  • Read and discuss one devotional entry each week together.

  • Meet in neighborhoods across the city: Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Grand Central, Hudson Square, and Boerum Hill.

Reading the full devotional at home is encouraged but not required to participate.
