New Parent Coffee Hour

Wednesday Nights - “Walking On Water”

We're doing a 5-week series on creativity and contemplation this fall, and would love for you to join us. Drawing on inspiration from Madeleine L'Engle's classic book on spirituality for creatives, "Walking On Water", Kate Gungor will be leading these gatherings to include conversation on some themes related to creativity and spirituality, and a guided group contemplative practice. Reading the book is not required (this is not a book club), but you're welcome to if you'd like!

These gatherings will take place at the church on Wednesday nights Oct 21-Nov 18, at 7pm.

Help Bring Thanksgiving to Our Neighbors

This Thanksgiving, Good Shepherd is partnering with City Relief to provide warm holiday meals to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Our goal is to raise $1,500 to provide Thanksgiving meals at Tompkins Square Park, where our Good Shepherd community regularly serves alongside City Relief. Once we reach that goal, every additional dollar raised will help provide Thanksgiving meals at City Relief's other outreach locations, including Chelsea Park, East Harlem, the South Bronx, Newark, and Paterson.

No gift is too small! Just $20 provides a Thanksgiving meal for one person, and every dollar makes a difference. We invite you to give what you can as we come together to care for our neighbors this Thanksgiving.

Join Us to Serve on November 20

On Friday, November 20, from 10:30 AM–1:15 PM, we'll gather at Tompkins Square Park for our regular monthly outreach with City Relief. This month, we'll have the special opportunity to help serve Thanksgiving meals supported by our church's giving campaign!

Volunteers will help serve meals, create a welcoming environment, and connect with our neighbors through conversation, hospitality, and prayer.

Volunteer at Good Shepherd

Sunday mornings are something we create together, and there are lots of ways to be part of making our gatherings welcoming and participatory.

Our Sunday volunteers serve as greeters, ushers, Psalm readers, Gospel readers, and readers for the Prayers of the People. Whether you love welcoming people as they walk through the doors or would rather participate by helping lead part of the liturgy, there’s a place for you.

No previous experience is needed — we’ll make sure you have everything you need before you serve.
