Handel’s epic Messiah, a holiday favorite and tradition for centuries, is offered numerous times throughout the Advent and Christmas seasons. In New York City alone, one can find offerings from the New York Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to the most modest of offerings in local churches throughout the five boroughs.

But while the majority of these performances are meant to be enjoyed by a large listening audience, at GTS we offer the chance to sing the work AS an audience – YOU will be the choir. Under the teaching guidance of conductor Julian Wachner, an expert in Handel’s Messiah and Affiliated Professor of Music and the Arts at GTS, we will rehearse together and then sing through selections of this incredible oratorio.

Joined by a stellar quartet of soloists from The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, please join us for an evening of enjoyment, education and potential spiritual awakening!

The event will begin with an hour of group rehearsal and preparation followed by the 90-minute Sing after an intermission with Prosecco and seasonal snacks.
