We are excited to welcome you into the Lenten season this year. While we can’t be together for our yearly Ash Wednesday service and in person Lent groups, we have many different ways to get involved this Lenten season. This page has a multitude of ways to participate in the season of Lent with the GSNY community.
ASH WEDNESDAY
To begin the Lenten season we will be hosting a digital Ash Wednesday service that will be released on Ash Wednesday at 7pm EST on our Youtube channel. You can find that link below to join with us.
One of the defining aspects of an Ash Wednesday service is the imposition of ashes. We have an instructional video below to help you create your own ashes to participate in this sacred practice with us and the broader GSNY community.
We have also created a Lent devotional to help guide you through the season. There are two versions of the same guide. The first is created for those who wish to interact with the guide digitally. The second is formatted for those who wish to print off the guide to have a tactile document to interact with. You can find both of those below.
During Lent we are inviting you to join the broader Good Shepherd community in two practices: fasting and the Examen prayer. In these videos Pastor Michael orients us to each practice.
